ORIGIN
Colombia is one of the world’s top producers of Arabica coffee, and over the years the country has become synonymous with quality coffee. The country has nurtured its coffee industry and the spirit of innovation is strong; new coffee varieties and processing innovations are emerging as well as classic aroma and taste profiles beloved by coffee drinkers around the world. Most of the country’s coffee is grown by smallholder producers across its many coffee-growing regions. Cauca is located in the central-western Colombia, stretching from the Western Cordillera mountain range to the Pacific Ocean. Ocean winds and elevation result in Cauca being one of the coolest regions of the country.

The region benefits from nutrient-rich soils, ample rainfall and geographic features including the central volcanic mountain range and Popayan Plateau. The Municipality of Inza is an area of land that sits high on a Colombian plateau called the ‘Macizo Colombiano’. This area is famous for its diverse indigenous history and is perfect for growing specialty coffee at altitudes that reach over 2000 masl.

PRODUCER
Sourced through our friends at Cofinet Specialty, this coffee is a regional blend produced by smallholder growers in the Inzá municipality, which is part of the Tierradentro region located on the western side of Cauca. Eighty percent of the region is inhabited by the indigenous tribe, Paeces, who cultivate coffee on their farms with an average size of 0.5 to 1.5 hectares. Mainly, Castillo and Caturra varieties are cultivated and harvested before being delivered to nearby wet mills for processing.

ROAST
Omni-roasted for espresso and filter, we have developed this coffee in the roast to showcase the classic Colombian cup profile that is loved so much by coffee drinkers worldwide. You can expect a zesty, candied orange acidity complemented by sweet caramel and a smooth milk chocolatey body with a hint of nutmeg in the finish. Delicious and versatile across a wide range of brew methods including espresso.
