Origin: Coffee continues to have strong roots in Central American country of Guatemala. This colourful and complex country in Central America is blessed with high mountains, ample rainfall and hot dry winds that blow over from Mexico’s Tehuantepec Plain – creating excellent conditions for coffee production. Due to the altitude and biodiversity of the region, Huehuetenango is a region that is renowned for producing exceptional coffees.  The region is located in the west of Guatemala, bordering Mexico, and the rituals customs and traditions of Mam people – descendants of the ancient Myans, still thrive.

Producer: The name of Eduardo’s farm, La Mora, comes from the blackberry trees which flourish on his land. It is big, leafy tree and also provides shade cover for his coffee trees. He has steadily expanded the land over the years and his family have gained a strong reputation in their community because of their sustainable approach to working in carful stewardship of the local environment. Eduardo and his family are proud of their cultural roots and still speak the local indigenous Mayan language Mom.
